National Conference 2022
The speaker for our 2022 conference will be Julian Hardyman. It will be held in Shropshire, England - from 4pm on Friday 30th September to 2pm Sunday 2nd October. The exact location will be given once your registration is complete.
Seminar Options
We intend to offer three seminar options on the Saturday:
From Solid Ground to Sinking Sand - when church leaders are swayed by contemporary culture (Speaker TBC)
What is our reaction when our church leaders start to question the truth of the historical biblical ethic on sexuality? Do we challenge or leave the church when our leaders are no longer prepared to teach on marriage and relationships or are now openly 'affirming'? This seminar will teach the biblical principles of same-sex relationships, discuss the choices we face in response to a change in stance from our leaders, as well as give testimony from those who have faced this painful dilemma.
Happily Unmarried: The Joy of Undivided Devotion (Jonathan Berry)
In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul says to those struggling with self-control that “it is better to marry than to burn with passion”. For those of us only attracted to the same sex, this might leave us feeling like we’ve hit a dead end. This seminar will take a positive and upbeat look at what celibacy can look like for the Christian. We’ll hear honest testimony from people at different life stages that will reveal not just their struggles, but how their celibacy has led them to increased devotion and dependence on the Lord.
Objections to Biblical Teaching (Graham)
We face no shortage of opposition both inside and outside the church, but what reasons do people have for opposing the biblical teaching? This seminar will examine some of the most common objections and give us insight into the reasoning behind them. We will look at what answers the Bible holds, and consider whether some of the arguments may actually represent a fair critique of where the church is failing in its ministry to LGBT people.
